CHRISTCHURCH EARTHQUAKE UPDATE

Earthquake and Land Zone Issues

20 July 2011

The recent announcement by the Prime Minister Mr John Key and the Minister of Canterbury Earthquake Recovery, Mr Gerry Brownlee, as to the zoning of land affected by the earthquakes has caused some uncertainty and anxiety.  We want to provide as much assistance as we can because we are aware that many affected land owners face some difficult decisions.

We believe the best way to do this is to facilitate a group meeting with clients and others who wish to attend.  This will enable us to tell you critical information that you will need to know and at the same time give you an opportunity to ask questions.

There will be many who are experiencing similar issues, for example, difficulties with your insurance company, or rating valuations that do not reflect recent improvements made to your homes.  The meeting will provide a forum to canvass all of your issues; some of the common issues we anticipate being able to immediately address at the meeting but we recognise that other issues will be unique.

However, it will also be useful to identify the more complex issues that some of you may be facing.

At this meeting we will have present valuers, bank representatives and insurance sector representatives.  All of whom can share information and answer your questions.

The date and time of this meeting is yet to be confirmed, but details will be posted here soon.

If you are interested in attending, please contact us on (03) 379-2800 or fill out our Online Enquiry Form so that we can let you have final details directly.

Dear Clients, family and friends of Papprills

Our building at 90 Armagh Street, Christchurch has taken on a worrying South-East lean, which has resulted in limited access to the building which remains in the red zone.

We continue to retrieve deeds and files from the building.  We hope to have this process completed by the end of March 2011.

We have been fortunate that with help from our friends at Ford Baker Valuers Limited we have now secured permanent premises at

48 Fitzgerald Avenue, Christchurch, New Zealand (corner of Leeds Street and Fitzgerald Avenue)

We will be in these premises for the foreseeable future.

We have been able to retrieve our server and back up with the help of U.S.A.R (see photo below), and our friends at Eliot Sinclair & Partners Limited.

It has only been with the assistance of numerous people that we are now fully functional and we express our gratitude for their invaluable assistance.

We trust that you are all coping well as can be expected in these times.

If we can be of any assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

- Papprills
