Recognising the very real need to provide legal services to those involved in the entertainment industry Papprills is proud to launch its entertainment law service. A service already welcomed by local entertainers.

The Entertainment Law Team at Papprills will ensure that your important legal rights are protected. The team is experienced in entertainment law and each member also enjoys a wide variety of “out of office” interests.

In addition to the services already provided to local entertainers, Papprills offers the First Step programme to assist fledgling artists, composers and writers.

Introducing the team at Papprills we have:

Tim Trollope

A partner in the firm since 1991. Since he was a young boy Tim has been a drummer. In recent years Tim has been a drummer for “Collector’s Edition”, a ten piece band that regularly performs at gigs throughout Canterbury. From time to time Tim has ‘subbed’ for other Christchurch bands. Tim’s experience in the industry, talent and love of music combined with legal skills provide relevant effective advice for musicians and entertainers.

Nicola McNally

Nicola comes from a family of music lovers and performers and is passionate about assisting those involved in the New Zealand music industry. While working for a boutique law firm in Auckland, Nicola accumulated a variety of skills in intellectual property, copyright and entertainment law. A South Island girl at heart, Nicola is excited about being part of an entertainment law service based in the South. Nicola is a talented sportswoman who has played for the Canterbury Flames and Southern Sting netball teams.

Jamie Ling

Jamie completed an honours degree at Canterbury University in 2009. Jamie’s honours project focussed on contracts for performers in the music industry. A classically trained singer by Dame Malvina Major, Jamie has performed extensively in both opera and musical theatre. In 2009, Jamie was the recipient of the prestigious Dame Malvina Major Foundation High Achievers Award.
